'Against the brakes'
Inspired by the return to the air after the tragic event at Paris Charles de Gaulle, this painting depicts a British Airways Concord, G-BOAF, in the new 'Chatham dockyard' livery ready for take-off. I have tried to faithfully capture the heat haze generated by the powerful Olympus engines as the afterburners are engaged. It is painted on Bockingford 300gsm rough paper, using Windsor & Newton artists quality paints. The painting, framed with beech wood and a double champagne mount, measures 55cm x 45cm.
