'Safely home'
Fishing trawler, INS 154, makes it back to landfall after a deep water fishing trip. The gulls surround the trawler, scavenging for scraps that the fishermen throw overboard. The bird types on display range from Skua's to Great black backed gulls. The trawlers hard existence is captured down to the rust detailing on the hull. It is painted on Bockingford 300lb rough paper, using Windsor & Newton artists quality paints. The painting, framed with oak with a double champagne mount, measures 60cm x 50cm. This painting is on display in the National Museum of Wales, Turner Gallery, Penarth.
